In the first reading (post published September 3, 2017), Dr. Ehrman answers two questions from blog members.  First, why some conservative Christian theologians think believers no longer have “gifts of the Spirit” (i.e., ability to perform miracles, speak in tongues), and Second, whether Matthew mistranslated the Hebrew word meaning “young women” into the Greek word for “virgin.”

In the second reading (post published September 4, 2013), Dr. Ehrman looks at Acts and Paul’s letters to show why there is reason to doubt that Luke, the author of Acts, was personally familiar with Paul.
